OUR IMPACT

Since 1998, Fairland Foundation has maintained an active community presence, and has successfully implemented projects for the benefit of various communities. Fairland Foundation established and continues to support the operation of Fairland High School a dully registered and classified private secondary school under Uganda’s Ministry of Education; at Nakabago Cell of Mukono Municipality. Over 400 orphans and needy children receive secondary and vocational education annually at this school, under its sponsorship program. Fairland Foundation has also sensitized communities in Mukono, Kampala, Kayunga, Buikwe, and Jinja on better living; trained quite a number of community health workers (CHWs), and facilitated the establishment of health committees in a number of villages.

Additionally, Fairland Foundation provided a water system to address the problem of water scarcity in Nakabago Cell.  Furthermore, it sensitized 600 orphans in Buwenge Sub-county of Jinja District on high-risk behavior to reduce the HIV/AIDS incidence among them. Fairland Foundation also mobilized students about voting and related rights, taught 800 households in Buwenge, Jinja; and 600 parents from Kayunga, Mukono, and Kampala about children’s rights and the role parents have to play in ensuring these rights, besides collaborating with local council chairpersons, NGOs, and CBOs in Mukono Municipality on advocating for fundamental human rights. In appreciation of Fairland Foundation’s commitment towards the plight of the vulnerable, the World Women Summit Foundation (WWSF) in November, 2008 awarded Fairland Foundation with its annual global prize for the prevention of child abuse.
