Establishment of Behemoth International University

This project targets the establishment of Behemoth International University (BIU) to address the higher education and job-creation needs in Kayunga District and the entire country at large. Although naturally endowed as an agricultural belt and food-basket for East and Central Uganda, Kayunga District has hitherto no any reputable Tertiary Institution or university, and all those in need of professional skills or further education have to search for it in the neighboring districts where such institutions are available; and at prohibitive costs. The establishment of Behemoth International University in Kayunga Municipality will address such need.

This project will undertake construction of a new administration block for the university, class/lecture rooms, hostels for both men and men to accommodate 2000 students, an auditorium to seat 3000 students, a cafeteria to accommodate 2000 students, Olympic-size sports facilities including a swimming pool, athletics stadium, football ground, netball pitch, hockey stadium, basketball pitch, gymnasium, supermarket, library, computer laboratory, science laboratory, restaurant, Student Guild offices, Nursery an Primary School, Senior Staff accommodation (10) units, staff accommodation (20) units, and a Constituent College for Engineering and Computer Science in Jinja Town which has an accomplished industrial base to support sustained practicum. The nature of this project as an international university entails a large capital out lay, and its estimated annual budget is in the confines of US$ 7,500,000.
